Can MySpace succeed in Japan?

MySpace is going to be localized for 11 countries including France, Germany, China and India this summer.

Chris DeWolfe, co-founder and chief executive of MySpace, told the Financial Times on Monday that he had earmarked 11 countries for its international expansion, among them France and Germany, and was looking at China and India over the longer term.

And TechCrunch anticipates that the targets for MySpace's international expansion also include Korea, Brazil, Italy and Japan. It's exactly exciting!

There is a very powerful competitor for SNS enters into Japanese market. It'll be applicable even to MySpace. mixi is that. It has over 5 million registered users, and continues growing up day by day. For more details about mixi, see the entry on Wikipedia.

Can MySpace succeed in Japan? I'm looking forward to watch the race for the honor as the representative SNS in Japan.
